About the project

Drilling in partnership with Kenya Red Cross to enhance the learning environment through improved water access.

Challenge

  • Issue: Communities served by The Salvation Army East Territory faced critical deficiencies in clean water access, threatening health, sanitation, and overall quality of life.

  • Need: An urgent, large-scale project was required to rapidly improve water access by both creating new sources and restoring non-functional existing ones.

Solution

  • Action: Geo Blue Engineering partnered with The Salvation Army East Territory to undertake a major, multi-faceted water access initiative.

  • Execution:

    • New Supply: Successfully drilled two (2) brand new boreholes to establish new, reliable water sources in underserved areas.

    • Restoration: Conducted thorough rehabilitation of four (4) existing boreholes, restoring their functionality and maximizing the use of prior infrastructure investments.

    • Scale: This comprehensive approach addressed both quantity (new sources) and sustainability (restoring existing sources).

Outcome

  • Impact: The combined effort of drilling and rehabilitation yielded a massive improvement in clean water availability across the serviced communities.
  • Beneficiaries: The project directly enhanced access to clean water for over 5,000 households.
  • Result: The successful completion continues to transform lives by significantly enhancing health, dignity, and community resilience in the areas served by The Salvation Army.
