About the project

Together with Project Maji, restoring the Kea Community borehole in Kitui County—bringing back dependable water access and supporting the wellbeing of families who depend on it every day.

Challenge

  • Issue: The Kea Community in Kitui County faced a crisis due to a non-functional or unreliable borehole, which deprived families of their essential, dependable water source.

  • Need: An immediate intervention was required to restore the borehole to full operational status, bringing back reliable water access to support the daily well-being of the community.

Solution

  • Action: Geo Blue Engineering collaborated with Project Maji (a non-profit partner) to conduct the necessary restoration work on the faulty community borehole.

  • Execution:

    • Assessment: Detailed diagnostics were performed to identify the cause of the borehole failure (e.g., pump failure, siltation, or damaged casing).

    • Rehabilitation: Comprehensive maintenance and repair procedures were executed, potentially including pump retrieval, desilting, and component replacement.

    • Restoration: The system was successfully brought back to a dependable water access point, ensuring operational longevity.
